Gift Relationship “Rebuilding”?——Debate on Social Relations Which Gift and Commodity Direct

摘要: 作为研究社会关系的主要关注点,礼物交换作为一种交换系统,有助于群体和社区内聚力的形成。与之相对,商品交换则被认为是生发于市场社会的交换形式,易催生个体化和原子化的社会关系。文章通过梳理相关文献,指出社会学者关于礼物与商品不同社会关系指向的主要争论:一种观点认为礼物是一种隐性的商品;与之相对,另一种观点则认为礼物与商品指向的是完全不同的社会关系形式。通过对文献的深入分析,进一步指出现代社会“重建”礼物关系或许是一个不可实现的任务。Abstract: Gift exchange is the main concern of sociologists to research social relations.As a kind of exchange system,gift exchange contributes to the formation of cohesion among groups and communities.In contrast,commodity exchange is considered to be a form of exchange that occurs in the market society,and easy to create individualized and atomized social relationships.This paper points out that sociologists advanced by reading the relevant literature:one view is that gift is a hidden commodity,in contrast,another view is that gifts and commodities point to completely different forms of social relations.By making in-depth analysis,this paper further points out that the rebuilding of gift relationship in modern society may be an unachievable task.
