Abstract: The paper, based on the theory of textual function in Systemic Functional Grammar, explores the projection clause nexus in Analects and its English versions.By applying the theory of thematic structure and cohesion in the analysis of projection clause nexus, we find that the different realization of thematic structure and cohesion in different English versions can present different textual meaning.The research concludes that analyzing textual meaning of the projection clause nexus plays important roles in the translation research of projection clause nexus.
